Cairo Sustainable Energy Week

In partnership with Rcreee(Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency) , we will organize the Cairo Sustainable Energy Week, which will take place from October 1st to October 3rd in Cairo(Egypt).

It is an opportunity to discuss, analyse and evaluate the chances  and challenges facing the member States Countries( Algeria, Bahrein, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen)in drawing up and implementing their national sustainable energy policies, while focusing on how to ensure easy and reliable access to energy services for all the segments of the society.

Sustainability is a vital issue for the Arab World which faces a range of economic, social, and environmental challenges, such as, the increasing energy consumption and production, the water scarcity and the extremely arid climate, the waste management linked to rapid urbanization and population growth and the biodiversity loss as the region is home to a rich diversity of plant and animal species.

To address these challenges, the MENA and Arab countries have developed national strategies and policies aimed at promoting sustainable development. They focus on accelerating energy transition, promoting water conservation, improving waste management, and protecting biodiversity, however, there is still a lot of room for improvement and cooperation to build a more prosperous, inclusive, and green future for the whole region.
